Cosenza Family News

The everyday life of the Cosenza family in Nashville Tennessee.

4-10-09:

Saturday April 4th 2007 our beloved Duke passed away. He was a wonderful dog that  we loved with all of our hearts. He will be missed dearly.
We rescued Duke from an ad in the newspaper while we still lived in Michigan. We called the house that found him and they said they couldn’t keep him because he chased there cats and he was afraid of men. So Sue and I took a drive out to Stockbridge Michigan to pick him up. We got to the house and they lady said he probably would not come near me because I am a man. Well I started walking up to the house and there he was I said, “ hey buddy what’s up?”  He came right over to me and let me pet him. Well I guess it was meant to be. We put him in the Sue’s Aztek and he fell asleep on the way home. I can still remember how cute he looked sleeping. He fit right in with the rest of the pack and he soon became known as Duke the Kook because of his crazy antics. He never did get over his fear of men, he was always skeptical. He really loved to run around and think he was the big man of the house even thought he was the smallest. We gave him a lot of love and he gave back ten fold. He loved to sleep next to my head at night like a little kitten. When he woke up he would be so happy. He would roll over and want you to rub his belly before he got up.
Another nickname that he had was the silk monster because his ears and coat felt like silk. They were so soft.
He brought many great memories for Sue and I and he will always be remembered. We buried him next to the garden shed and even found a nice stone for him.
He is up in heaven with Chelsea the Redtick, Gus the Weimaraner, and Pepper the watchdog.

11-8-08:

I drove up to Michigan to see the family. Elizabeth (my sister) and Craig's twin boys turned 1 years old. I set up the lights and background and took some pictures of the family. It was great to see everybody since it has been almost a year since I have been up there. I stayed at Arlo and Mary's house Friday night, Craig Karlson came over and we had a few beers and talked until 2:30 am. I met mom and sister Sue Saturday morning for breakfast and to pick up my wine I bought from Sue. Eddie her husband can get some great wine. Thanks Suey and Ed the wine is fantastic. I especially love the Shoe Fly.

Saturday night we all ate alot of food and the boys opened up their birthday presents. Craig Peters had to go home early because of the twins. The guys Andy, Arlo, Craig Karlson, and I played Euchre until about 2:00 am. We also drank a alot of vino. It was a great weekend and hope to go back soon.

10-3-08:

Lorelei and Sammy Mah were in town to see Victoria and stayed our house for a long weekend. It was great to see them as usual. The IBMA world of Bluegrass festival was in town for the week and I was able to go Friday and Saturday. I did get some great pictures and a couple are below. There is also a link on the home page.

Sue, Lorelei, Sammy and Victoria went to the Vanderbilt vs Auburn game Saturday night. It was a great game and Vanderbilt won. They are now 5-0 on top of the SEC East Division.

9-25-08:

Another great day here in Tennessee. I was out patching the driveway this morning and Charlie escaped, I could hear him howling as he ran through the woods. The next thing you know I hear something coming through the woods at me so I look up and here comes a Fox running right past me. Literally 5 feet in front of me! He looks at me and I look at him like “what the hell “. Then I hear Charlie’s howls getting closer and closer. Well he got close enough for me to snag him and bring him back inside.

That was his fun for the day.

Later in the afternoon I went down to watch the Nashville Predators have an open practice. Below are a couple of pictures.
